lyrics
It was not part of their blood it came to them very late
With long arrears to make good when the Saxon began to hate
They were not easily moved they were icy -- willing to wait
Till every count should be proved ere the Saxon began to hate.
It was not suddenly bred it will not swiftly abate
Through the chilled years ahead when time shall count from the date
No it was not suddenly bred it will not swiftly abate
Through the chilled years ahead when time shall count from the date
That the Saxon began to hate yes to hate
Their voices were even and low their eyes were level and straight
There was neither sign nor show when the Saxon began to hate
It was not preached to the crowd it was not taught by the state
No man spoke it aloud when the Saxon began to hate
Text: Rudyard Kipling (Original title: The Wrath Of The Awakened Saxon).
It was not suddenly bred it will not swiftly abate
Through the chilled years ahead when time shall count from the date
No it was not suddenly bred it will not swiftly abate
Through the chilled years ahead when time shall count from the date
That the Saxon began to hate yes to hate

I've enjoyed The Wake since the 90s. The new album feels like a trip to right where they left off! Goth Rock at it's best! I can't wait to see where they go from here!! aklosowski22

New wave of Gothic Rock at it's finest. This band has top level talent from well renowned acts involved so wasn't the least bit surprised upon hearing the opening track. If you miss late 80's to mid 90's gothic rock bands, I can't recommend this one enough. m4rkos1334
